BIRMINGHAM – The UAB softball team and Alabama have postponed the softball contest scheduled for Wednesday night due to cold and wet weather in the area. The game will be rescheduled at a later date to be determined.
Tickets purchased for the Alabama game will be honored at the rescheduled game date.
UAB will travel to Starkville, Miss. this weekend to take on the Mississippi State, UT Martin and Alcorn State at the Snowman (Alex Wilcox Memorial Tournament). The Blazers will open the tournament Friday, Feb. 28 against Alcorn State at 4:30 p.m. before playing host Mississippi State at 7 p.m. The Green and Gold will play two on Saturday with UT Martin at 12:30 p.m. followed by Mississippi State again at 3 p.m. The Blazers will conclude on Sunday at 10 a.m. against UT Martin.
The Blazers are looking to get back in the win column after tough losses to No. 11 Louisiana, No. 14 Oklahoma State and a pair of losses to Ole Miss last weekend in the Blazer Classic.
