DALLAS – Conference USA announced its All-Academic Team for the 2023 softball season on Friday, and Florida Atlantic University’s Sommer Baker was named to the list for her efforts in the classroom.
Baker has exemplified what it means to be a student-athlete throughout her four-year career at FAU. She will graduate this summer with a Master’s in Exercise and Health Promotion with a concentration in Exercise Physiology. Baker has earned a 3.91 GPA and graduated from her undergraduate program in spring 2022. Baker has been on the Dean’s list four times and the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll three times.
On the diamond, Baker has started in 46 out of the Owls’ 48 games at shortstop. She has collected 12 RBI, six doubles, two triples and 10 runs scored. For her career, Baker has played in 148 games while making 142 starts, and has three home runs with 36 RBI and 69 hits.
Baker and the Owls wrap up the regular season at UTSA this weekend, May 5-7.
