Summer Smith Transfers to Florida
USA National Team Member Smith joins reigning SEC Champions

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Swim and Dive team added USA National Team Member Summer Smith, head coach Anthony Nesty announced Friday. Smith will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Smith comes to Gainesville from Tennessee, where she was a member of the 2022 SEC All-Freshman Team in the pool, and was a CSCAA Scholar All-American and named the SEC Academic Honor Roll during her freshman campaign.

During the summer of 2022, Smith was a member of the US National team for the 2022 World Aquatics Championships, qualifying for 5th in the 10km race at the US National Championships and 12th in the 5km at the Word Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

At the 2022 SEC Championships, Smith finished sixth in the 400 IM and 8th in the 200 fly. At the 2022 NCAA Championships, she qualified for the 400 IM, 500 free and 1650 free, finishing in the top-30 in her three events.

Highly touted out of high school, Smith was ranked the No. 6 overall recruit in the 2021 signing class by Swimcloud.
