Week 12 Postgame Notes

Sunday, Nov. 29, 2020

The Jacksonville Jaguars fell to the Cleveland Browns, 27-25, in Week 12.

GLENNON’S JAGUARS DEBUT: In his first start since 2017, QB Mike Glennon completed 20 of 35 passes for 235 yards and two TDs with zero INTs, including a 46-yard TD strike to WR Collin Johnson. Glennon posted a 96.7 QB rating, marking the fourth-highest QB rating in a game he’s started and the highest QB rating in a game he has started since Nov. 24, 2013. He led the Jaguars on an 11-play 78-yard drive to pull within two points with 2:14 remaining.

JOHNSON STEPS UP: WR Collin Johnson caught four passes for a career-high and team-best 96 yards, including a 46-yard TD in the first quarter. It marked the second-longest TD by a Jaguars player in 2020 and the longest TD reception by a Jaguars rookie since WR Keelan Cole Sr. caught a 73-yard pass on Dec. 10, 2017. Johnson’s 96 receiving yards are the most by a Jaguars rookie since Cole recorded 186 receiving yards against Houston on Dec. 12, 2017.

J-ROB CONTINUES RECORD-BREAKING SEASON: RB James Robinson turned in a career-best 159 scrimmage yards (128 rushing and 31 receiving) to become the first undrafted rookie in NFL history to total 1,100 scrimmage yards through their first 11 career games. Robinson’s streak of five consecutive games with 90 scrimmage yards is the longest in the NFL and his 1,170 scrimmage yards through 11 games are the most in franchise history by a Jaguars player through their first 11 career games.

The Illinois State product gained 128 yards and one TD on the ground, extending his season total to six rushing TDs and eight total TDs. Robinson joins Fred Taylor (1998) and Maurice Jones-Drew (2009) as the only players in franchise history to gain 1,000 rushing yards and score eight or more TDs in the first 12 weeks of a single season.

SCHO-TIME: LB Joe Schobert, playing against his former team for the first time, forced the first fumble of his Jaguars career in the third quarter, which S Andrew Wingard returned for 17 yards. The Jaguars turned the turnover into points with a 2-yard TD reception by TE Tyler Eifert to go ahead 20-19. Through 11 games, Schobert has posted a team-leading 93 tackles, one INT and one forced fumble. He is the fifth Jaguars player over the last 10 seasons to post 80-plus tackles, one INT and one forced fumble through the first 12 weeks of a season, joining LBs Telvin Smith Sr. (twice), LB Paul Posluszny (three times) and LB Daryl Smith (2011).

COOKE’S CORNER: P Logan Cooke placed all three of his punts inside the 20 and finished with a 45.7 punting average. Cooke has placed 11 punts inside the 20 over the last four weeks (9-12), the most in the NFL.
