DOLPHINS BEAT JETS, FINISH NOVEMBER 4- 1

•The Dolphins improve to 7-4 this season, the team’s best record after 11 games since 2016.

•Miami has now won six of its past seven and seven of its past nine contests, and posted a 4-1 record in the month of November.

•This is Miami’s fourth road win of the season.

•The Dolphins have now beaten the Jets in six of the past seven meetings and eight of the last 10.

•Miami has now won 12 of its past 20 games dating back to last year.

•The Dolphins win evens the all-time series with the Jets at 55-55-1 (including playoffs).

DOLPHINS DEFENSE HOLDS JETS TO THREE POINTS

•The Dolphins defense limited the Jets to just three points, 10 first downs and 260 total yards.

•The Dolphins held the Jets to just three total points in the two games against them this season, after posting a shutout in Week 6.

oAccording to Elias Sports Bureau, the three total points allowed is the fewest by an NFL team in two meetings against the same opponent since 2009 when the Ravens allowed just three total points in two games against Cleveland.

oThe three points allowed is the second-fewest by the Dolphins against an AFC East opponent in one season. Miami shutout the Baltimore Colts in both games played against them in 1972.

•Miami extended its takeaway streak to 17 straight games – the longest active streak in the NFL. It is the team’s longest takeaway streak since the 2000-01 seasons and tied for the fifth-longest in team history.

oMiami’s 19 takeaways this season are tied for second-most in the NFL at the end of today’s 1 p.m. games.

•The Jets’ 10 first downs today were tied for the second-fewest in a single game in the NFL this season.

oThe last time the Jets had 10 or fewer first downs in a game was Oct. 6, 2019 at Philadelphia (9).

oMiami held the Jets to just 13 first downs in the Week 6 meeting, which is tied for the Jets’ second-lowest first down output this year.

•Miami improved its scoring defense to just 18.6 points allowed per game this season, which is second-lowest in the NFL at the end of today’s 1 p.m. games.

•The Dolphins have the best third-down defense in the NFL after limiting the Jets to just 3-of-13 (23.1 pct.) on third downs today. Miami’s 32.8 third down percentage allowed leads the league at the end of today’s 1 p.m. games.

•The Dolphins had five players record partial sacks today. S Brandon Jones had a full sack – the first of his career –while LB Jerome Baker, DT Raekwon Davis, LB Elandon Roberts and LB Kyle Van Noy all split sacks.

PARKER TOPS 4,000 CAREER YARDS, MOVES INTO 8TH PLACE IN TEAM HISTORY

•WR DeVante Parker posted the 10th 100-yard receiving game of his career, including six in his past 18 contests. Parker finished today with eight receptions for 119 yards (14.9 avg.).

•Parker finished the game with 4,061 career receiving yards. He became the ninth player in Dolphins history to top 4,000 career receiving yards.

•Parker also moved into eighth place in team history in all-time receiving yards, surpassing WR Jarvis Landry, who had 4,038 receiving yards for the Dolphins.

•Parker’s eight receptions give him 287 for his career, moving him past TE Randy McMichael (283) for 10th place in Dolphins history.

HOWARD RE- TAKES NFL LEAD IN INTERCEPTIONS

•CB Xavien Howard intercepted Jets QB Sam Darnold in the fourth quarter on the Jets’ final offensive play of the game. It was Howard’s seventh interception of the season, which matches his career high set in 2018.

•Howard is the fourth player and second cornerback in team history to have multiple years with 7-plus interceptions, joining CB Sam Madison(1998-99), S Jake Scott(1971, 1974)and S Dick Anderson (1968, 1970, 1873).

•Howard had three passes defensed today, giving him 50 for his career.

•Howard leads the NFL this season with seven interceptions (at the end of today’s 1 p.m. games) and has more interceptions than any NFL player since 2017:

SANDERS SETS NFL RECORD WITH 10TH CONSECUTIVE MAKE FROM 50+

•K Jason Sanders tied the game at 3-3 with a 54-yard field goal in the first quarter. He kicked a 51-yard field goal in the second quarter to make it 13-3.

•Sanders is a perfect 8-of-8 from 50+ yards this season. He has the most 50+ yard field goals in the NFL this year at the end of today’s 1 p.m. games.

•Dating back to last season, Sanders has now made 10 consecutive field goals from 50+ yards. That’s the longest active streak of 50+ yard field goals in the NFL.

•Sanders is 12-of-14 (85.7 pct.) from 50+ yards in his career. His 85.7 field goal percentage from 50+ is the best in the NFL since at least 1991. No other NFL kicker is better than 80 percent in his career from 50+ (min. 10 attempts).

GESICKI CATCHES EIGHTH TOUCHDOWN IN PAST 17 GAMES

•QB Ryan Fitzpatrick found TE Mike Gesicki for a 13-yard touchdown on a third-and-8 in the second quarter. The touchdown gave Miami a 7-0 lead.

•For Gesicki, it was his eighth touchdown reception in his past 17 games. At the end of today’s 1 p.m. games, that total was tied for the fourth-most by all NFL tight ends since Week 13 of the 2019 season.
