UF WTN: Three Victories Highlight Day Two of Georgia Invitational

Saturday marked a perfect day for Florida freshmen Alicia Dudeney and Bente Spee.

ATHENS, Ga. – Freshman duo Alicia Dudeney and Bente Spee put together a perfect outing between doubles and singles competition on day two of the Georgia Invitational.

After splitting a pair of doubles matches on Friday, the underclassmen bounced back on Saturday morning to earn a hard-fought victory over Shvets and Rodilosso of Princeton, holding off the Tigers, 8-7 (4).

Following the morning victory, Spee found herself matched-up with Princeton’s Grace Joyce in singles competition. Looking to stay perfect for the weekend in singles, Spee responded after falling in the first set, 6-7(3), taking the final two sets 6-2, 7-5.

Dudeney, seeking her first singles win of the weekend, capture a convincing victory over Central Florida’s Jaleesa Leslie. Hanging on for a 6-4 win in the opening set, Dudeney was in control of the second set, blanking Leslie for the 6-0 victory.

Day three of the Georgia Invitational is slated to begin at 8 a.m. ET with round three of the singles rotation.
