UF WTN: Inside Florida Tennis’ NCAA Weekend

Match times have officially been set for the first two rounds of the 2024 NCAA Women’s Tennis Tournament and weekend tickets at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex are now on sale.
GAINESVILLE, FL. – Florida was announced as the No. 14 seed in the 2024 NCAA Women’s Tennis Tournament Monday night. Being within the top 16, Florida is automatically set to host the first two rounds of the championship tournament.
Florida will welcome Stetson University, Florida International University, and the University of Miami to Gainesville this weekend. The Gators are slated to play Stetson in the first round which will be the second match on Saturday.  Play will begin after the conclusion of match one at approximately 3:00 p.m.
After play concludes on Sunday, May 5, only one team will remain and advance to the NCAA Super Regionals (May 10-12.)
FIRST AND SECOND ROUND INFORMATION:

  *   Saturday, May 4: Two Women’s First Round matches
     *   12:00 p.m. FIU vs. Miami
     *   3:00 p.m. Florida vs. Stetson
  *   Sunday, May 5: Women’s Second Round match
     *   2:00 p.m. winner of FIU/Miami vs. winner of Florida/Stetson
TICKET INFORMATION:
Tickets may be purchased in advance through Floridagators.com or at the tournament site. An all-session pass is $10- and single-day tickets will be $7 each. Tickets for all students and UAA staff members will be free of charge.

Gates will open for fans one hour prior to the start of the first competition each day. Please note that seating is on a first come, first served basis and saving of seats is not permitted.

PARKING AND WEATHER REPORT:
There will be no restrictions on parking around the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex. Fans should be aware of UF’s Spring Commencements taking place during the weekend, potentially causing an increase in traffic flow and visitors on campus.

The weather calls for partly cloudy skies and potential rain for both Saturday and Sunday with temperatures in the 80s. In the event of rain or thunderstorms, matches may be moved indoors. If matches are moved indoors, attendance will be limited to first come, first served, beginning with player guest lists.

LOOKING AHEAD:
After the Regional Championships (May 4-5), the Super Regional play will begin the following weekend (May 10-12) and determine the eight teams who will earn their spot into the NCAA National Championship rounds. The quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals will all be held at the Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma from May 17-20.
