UF WTN: Berlin, Dudeney Open ITA Regionals with Dominant Victory

The top-seeded duo swept their opposition in the opening round of the qualifying draw.

LAKE NONA, Fla. – Playing together for the first time this season, Sydney Berlin an Alicia Dudeney put on a dominant day one performance in the qualifying draw of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Southeast Regional Championships.

Earning an automatic bye in the first round as the draw’s top-seed, the duo found themselves matched-up with Georgia State’s Ellie Aldrich and Maddy Frediani who advanced after posting an 8-6 victory earlier in the morning. Berlin and Dudeney made quick of the Panther doubles squad, blanking the opposition for an 8-0 victory.

The Gators will be back in action in the semi-final round of the qualifying draw, taking on Kennesaw State’s Ji Youn Lee and Valentina Taddia. In addition to semi-final action, Friday will feature the start of the main draw of the tournament.
