Escobar Leads Gators at SEC Championship
Florida is currently inside the top-8 match play cut slated for tomorrow.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – On day two of the SEC Women’s Golf Championship, Marina Escobar continues to lead the Florida women’s golf team. The senior is tied for 3rd as the Gators are in 8th.

Escobar is one of four in the field that is under par for the tournament, holding a 36-hole round score of 143 (-1). She turned in a round two of 72 (E) for the third best performance in rainy conditions today at Greystone Golf and Country Club. Out of the field, she was one of five golfers that didn’t shoot over par.

Florida (+23) is in 8th and inside the 54-hole match play cut by two strokes as four strokes separate teams from 3rd to 7th. LSU, the reigning conference champions, lead the field at +10.

A shot separating one another is the trio of Annabell Fuller in T24, Jackie Lucena tied for 32nd and Maisie Filler T37. They are followed by Karoline Tuttle (T58)

The Gators are set to tee off the final round of stroke play at 10:40 a.m.
