Merritt Beason and Alexis Stucky were honored by the league on Monday
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – After leading Florida past Texas A&M in a four-setter on Saturday, two Gators garnered SEC Weekly honors.
Merritt Beason was tabbed as the SEC Offensive Player of the Week, while Alexis Stucky earned the title of Freshman of the Week.
This is the second such honor for Beason this season, while Stucky picked up her eighth weekly award of the 2022 campaign (Freshman – 4, Setter – 2, Overall – 2).
Against the Aggies, Beason – a sophomore right side – averaged 5.25 points per set and 3.75 kills per set.
The Gardendale, Ala. native finished the match with 15 kills and a .345 clip, while tying her career-high with four service aces. Rounding out her performance, Beason added five digs and four blocks to secure the title of SEC Offensive Player of the Week.
Stucky earned Freshman of the Week honors after dishing out 40 assists in the four-setter against Texas A&M.
The Laramie, Wyo. native also pitched in five digs, three kills and three blocks, while leading the team to a .241 clip in the victory.
The Gators conclude the home portion of their regular season schedule with a two-match series against the Kentucky Wildcats beginning on Nov. 19. Saturday’s match is slated for a 4 p.m. start on SEC +, while Sunday’s matchup is set for 2 p.m. on SEC Network.
