UF T&F: Stark Acquires Olympic Qualifying Mark, Gators Record Five UF All-Time Top 10 Finishes and 17 Personal Records in Florida Relays Finale

The Track & Field program concludes an exciting weekend of hosting Pepsi Florida Relays.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – As the Gators continued action in the 2024 Pepsi Florida Relays, athletes totaled 23 top ten finishes, five University of Florida All-Time Top 10 Finishes and 17 personal records. The Gators that secured first place finishes were Grace Stark and Jenoah McKiver while Kai Chang, Parvej Khan, Flomena Asekol, Gracelyn Leiseth, Sean Dixon-Bodie and the Men’s 4x400m team all recorded UF All-Time placements.

TOP PERFORMANCES
Grace Stark placed first in the Women’s 100m H with a time of 12.70. Her time makes her the first woman in the world to run a sub-12.80 this season and stands as an Olympic qualifying mark for 2024.

Jenoah McKiver, making his 2024 outdoor debut, began his season with a first-place finish and a strong time of 45.33.

ALTERING THE RECORD BOOKS
Kai Chang was the first Gator to etch his name in the record books as his toss of 60.83m/199’7” in the Men’s Discus Throw places him No. 2 on UF’s All-Time Top 10 List.

Flomena Asekol set a top time in UF History and in the nation this year in the Women’s 800m. Her time of 2:02.83 was good for No. 6 at UF and No. 5 in the NCAA.

Parvej Khan continued to build on his outstanding indoor season in his outdoor debut. Competing in the Men’s 800m Khan recorded a time of 1:46.12 which is No. 4 on UF’s All-Time list and No. 3 in the nation in 2024.

Freshman Gracelyn Leiseth broke into the UF All-Time Top 10 in Women’s Shot Put with a personal record throw of 16.52m/54’2.50” which stands at the No. 10 spot.

Prior to today Sean Dixon-Bodie stood tied for sixth on UF’s All-Time Top 10 Triple Jump list. However, after a personal best jump of 16.68m/54’8.75”, Dixon-Bodie now holds sole possession of the No. 6 spot and can claimed the No. 1 distance in the NCAA in 2024.

The Men’s 4x400m team, competing in the Jimmy Carnes Men 4x400m, of Reheem Hayles, Malique Smith-Band, Jevaughn Powell and Jenoah McKiver recorded a time of 3:01.51 which stands at No. 10 on the All-Time list and No. 3 in the NCAA in 2024

LET’S GET PERSONAL
A week after missing his personal record by 0.01 seconds, Ryan McCloskey clocked a 10.58 in the Men’s 100m to secure a new best.

Joey Stravato, who had already set a personal record four times in 2024, set personal records on two separate occasions Saturday. Stravato broke his previous record of 14.47 in the Men’s 110m H prelims with a time of 14.25 and then proceeded to snap that record again nearly an hour later with a run of 14.20.

In addition to Khan, eight Gators recorded personal records in the Men’s 800m of which include: Ryan Masemen, Miguel Pantojas, Edward Kepran, Joe Wester, Gavin Nelson, Michael Fiore, Noah Musselwhite and Chase Ruskin.

All three Gators competing in the Women’s Discus Throw, Akari Isaac, Gracelyn Leiseth and Da’Moni Kelly, set personal records with throws of 52.85m/173’4”, 52.28m/171’6” and 50.89m/166’11”, respectively.
