UF S&D: Swim and Dive Holds End of Season Banquet

Florida Swim and Dive celebrated a historic 2022-23 season Sunday

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Swim and Dive team celebrated a historic 2022-23 campaign Sunday inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

For the ninth time in program history, and first time in 30 years, both the men’s and women’s team won SEC Championships during the same season. The Gators are the first SEC team to sweep both titles in the same year in 15 years.

Florida men finished sixth at the NCAAs last month in Minneapolis. The Gators broke three NCAA relay records and won four national championships.

The women set three school relay records during the NCAA and SEC Championships this spring.

The men had 14 athletes earn 42 All-Americans, while the women notched 28 All-American honors from 11 different athletes. Between the two squads, 25 made the All-SEC teams.

Joshua Liendo and Zoe Dixon were named SEC Freshman Swimmers of the Year, while head coach Anthony Nesty became only the second Florida coach in program history to win both SEC Men’s and Women’s Swimming Coach of the Year in the same season (Randy Reese, 1990).

Awarded to an outstanding freshman male and is given based up his performance at the SEC & NCAA Championships. This individual exemplifies the competitive spirit.

Awarded to a Senior Gator whose leadership has been instrumental to the team’s overall success.
