ATLANTA. Ga. – The University of Florida women’s diving team wrapped up the first day of NCAA Zone competition on Sunday, with Maha Amer punching her ticket to the NCAA Championships on the women’s 1-meter springboard.
After their performances in the prelims, both Amer and Elizabeth Perez claimed their spot in the finals. Amer earned her way to the NCAA Championships with a ninth-place finish overall, recording a score of 563.10 in the process.
Elizabeth Perez placed 17th in the final, posting a score of 522.20.
Prelims
Amer notched a fifth-place finish in the preliminary round with a score of 311.00, while Perez posted a 15th-place finish with a score of 266.80.
Just outside the cusp of the Top-18 was Carina Lumia and Elettra Neroni, who finished 19th and 20th, respectively. Lumia registered a mark of 257.80, while Neroni rounded out the Gators with a 256.35.
Monday’s preliminary session begins at 11 a.m. with the men’s 1-meter, followed by the women’s 3-meter at 3:15 p.m. Events will run straight-through with a 10-minute break between the end of prelims and the beginning of finals.
