UF S&D: Florida Attains CSCAA Fall Scholar All-America Team Honors

Women record 3.67 GPA, Men post 3.30 GPA.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 4/3 Florida Gators Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving team continue to perform well in the classroom, earning CSCAA Fall Scholar All-America Team honors, announced by the College Swimming and Diving Association of America Monday.

The women’s team posted a 3.67 GPA among 35 athletes, which falls among the top-50 in the nation, while the men’s team had a 3.30 GPA across 42 athletes.

Samantha Barany, Executive Director of the CSCAA commented, “The dedication to academic excellence displayed by these teams is truly commendable. It is heartening to witness student-athletes thriving both in the pool and in their academic pursuits. The CSCAA is proud to recognize and celebrate the hard work and commitment of these teams.”

The CSCAA selected 783 teams from 461 institutions to the Scholar All-America Team for the Fall 2023 semester. Teams were selected on the basis of their Fall 2023 team grade point averages and represent 18,716 student-athletes.

The Gators are coming off three days of competition at the Florida Invitational where Florida recorded two NCAA A-cut times and 30 NCAA B-cut times. Both teams head to Auburn, Alabama for SEC Championships from Feb. 20-24. The men’s team is looking for its 12th-straight SEC title, while the women go for back-to-back SEC Champions.
