No. 7 Gators Geared Up for SEC Road Series at No. 17 Auburn
This weekend’s series will be the first time Florida has played at Jane B. Moore Field since the 2019 season.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The seventh-ranked Florida softball team prepares for its second Southeastern Conference road series of the year as the squad heads to Jane B. Moore Field to take on No. 17 Auburn for a three-game series this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The Gators (28-5, 5-4 SEC) enter the weekend after the team picked up a 10-3 win over No. 22 UCF in a midweek matchup and the Tigers (28-4, 6-3 SEC) earned a 6-2 victory over Alabama State this past Wednesday night.
In conference play, AU currently sits tied in first place with Alabama as they have series wins over Texas A&M and South Carolina, but dropped their most recent series at Kentucky, 2-1. UF currently ranks seventh overall in the most recent SEC standings with series wins over Mississippi State and Texas A&M, but also fell, 2-1, in their most recent series to Tennessee.
The last time the two programs faced off against each other occurred during the shortened 2020 season where Florida swept the Tigers at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium in what turned out to be the only SEC series played by the Gators before the season was shutdown.
UF swept AU in the three-game series by the scores of 6-0, 2-1 (11) and 11-0 (5). Senior Cheyenne Lindsey led the charge with a .727 (8-for-11) average at the plate with two doubles, a triple five runs scored and five RBI. In the circle, Rylee Trlicek received two starts and earned two shutout victories behind a total of 12.0 innings pitched with five strikeouts and two walks.
For the Tigers this season, they are led at the plate by Carlee McCondichie, who boasts a .423 (30-for-71) average at the plate, Nelia Peralta and Makayla Packer. In the circle, AU features a pair of strikeout pitchers in Maddie Penta (1.40 ERA) and Shelby Low (1.90 ERA). Penta currently has 152 strikeouts on the season, while Lowe has 104.
Offensively for the Gators, Skylar Wallace enters the weekend with a .434 (36-for-83) with 42 runs scored, 31 RBI, 30 stolen bases. The Woodstock, Ga. native is the only player in the country with at least 35 hits, 40 runs scored, 30 RBI and 30 stolen bases. Additionally, six other UF batters boast averages of .300 or better in the lineup.
Florida’s pitching staff is anchored by the combination of Elizabeth Hightower (9-1), Lexie Delbrey (9-2) and Natalie Lugo (6-2). Lugo leads the way with a 1.07 ERA through 46.0 innings, while Hightower sports a 1.87 ERA and Delbrey sits with a 2.37 ERA and a team-leading 75 strikeouts.
