UF MBK: Walter Clayton Jr. Named to SEC Community Service Team

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida’s Walter Clayton Jr. has been honored as part of the 2024 SEC Men’s Basketball Community Service Team, the Southeastern Conference announced on Wednesday.

Clayton has been a regular participant in a variety of programs at multiple local elementary schools throughout the academic year. The Lake Wales native has taken part in reading programs, mentorship opportunities and pep rallies with Alachua County Public Schools, activities that also align with his academic interests as an education sciences major.

In addition to his school-focused involvement, Clayton has spread his time to a wide range of events with Food4Kids of North Florida, North Central Florida YMCA, Made For More Mentorship Academy, The Education Foundation of Alachua County, Wreaths Across America and Partnership for Strong Families.

In addition to staying busy off the court, Clayton has been a star on the floor in his first season with the Gators, leading the team with 17.1 points per game and 75 made 3-pointers.
