Florida won three majors awards after a 2-0 week
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – After a perfect 2-0 week, four Gators earned American Athletic Conference honors as the league announced Monday.
Emma LoPinto was tabbed as Attacker of the Week – her ninth honor this season – while Sarah Reznick was named Goalkeeper of the Week for her fourth accolade this season.
Theresa Bragg and Catherine Flaherty each earned their first AAC weekly award, with Bragg garnering Freshman of the Week honors and Flaherty finding herself on the Honor Roll.
LoPinto was tabbed as the Attacker of the Week after averaging 4.50 points per game against the Flames and Pirates.
Against Liberty, she tallied five goals – including the first four of the game – to ensure the 16-7 victory. She went 5-for-5 shooting on the day and also recorded two groundballs.
In the win over East Carolina, the sophomore attacker registered four points on three goals and one assist. LoPinto also collected a groundball and a caused turnover in the game.
Reznick was stellar in the cage this past week, allowing only seven total goals, while tallying 23 saves and a .767 save percentage.
The redshirt junior had a career-day against Liberty, posting an .857 save percentage with 12 saves. Her two allowed goals ties her career-best mark.
Against the Pirates, Reznick saw all 60 minutes between the posts, coming up with 11 saves and a .767 save percentage.
In the two matchups, Bragg was an integral part of a defense that only allowed an average of 5.5 goals per game.
Against Liberty, the freshman registered the first point of her career, assisting LoPinto’s first goal of the game.
In the game against East Carolina, Bragg recorded a career-high three groundballs to go along with one caused turnover – tying her personal-best mark.
Flaherty earned a spot on the Honor Roll after captaining a defense that held each opponent faced to under six goals.
The Manorville, N.Y. native scored the first point of her collegiate career after assisting LoPinto on a fast-break opportunity against the Flames.
In the matchup against East Carolina, the senior defender posted two groundballs and one caused turnover, while limiting ECU’s leading scorer to just one goal. The two groundballs tied Flaherty’s career-high.
The Gators are back in action on Saturday when the team welcomes Vanderbilt to Donald R. Dizney Stadium. Opening draw is slated for 12 p.m. on ESPN+ and the game will serve as Florida’s Senior Day.
