UF LAX | Four Gators Take Home AAC Weekly Awards

Emma LoPinto, Danielle Pavinelli, Sarah Reznick and Emily Heller continue to rack up the conference accolades

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – After clinching at least a share of the American Athletic Conference title with a win over Temple Saturday, four Gators racked up league honors.

Danielle Pavinelli was tabbed as the AAC Attacker of the Week for the fifth time this season, while Sarah Reznick earned her second-straight AAC Defender of the Week title. For the eighth-straight time and ninth time overall, Emma LoPinto was named AAC Freshman of the Week and Emily Heller rounded out the honorees with her first spot on the Honor Roll this season.

Against Temple, Pavinelli tallied seven points on five goals and two assists. She finished the day with a .625 shooting percentage en route to giving Florida its 11th-straight regular season conference championship.

The Northport, N.Y. native currently sits seven the nation in free position percentage (.684) and 16th in the country in points per game (5.00).

Reznick took home Defender of the Week honors after putting up six saves on a .426 save percentage, while only allowing the Owls to score seven goals in a battle of the two unbeaten teams in the AAC. She also recorded two groundballs and moved into second-place in program history for most consecutive games with a save (44).

The redshirt sophomore keeper ranks first in the conference in save percentage (.475) and is 12th in the nation in goals against average (9.71).

LoPinto kept her stellar streak of Freshman of the Week honors alive after posting five points on two goals and three assists against the Owls. She went a perfect 2-of-2, pulling her season shooting percentage to .605 overall.

The Manhasset, N.Y. native sits fifth in the nation in shooting percentage (.605) and is 21st overall in points per game (4.87).

Rounding out the Gators was Heller, who nabbed a spot on the Honor Roll after tallying two goals and two assists in the victory. Heller was also a force in the draw circle, coming up with seven draws to go along with one groundball.

The seven draw controls and the two assists were both career-highs for the junior.

The Gators are back in action on Wednesday as they welcome the No. 22 Jacksonville Dolphins to town. Opening draw is slated for 6:30 p.m. at Donald R. Dizney Stadium.
