UAB Women’s Soccer: Three Blazers Named C-USA All-Conference

BIRMINGHAM – UAB’s Stella KissLexxe Lipsey and Laura Zemberyova have been named to Conference USA All-Conference Teams, the league office announced on Monday
Kiss and Lipsey were named to the Second Team.

Kiss finished the regular season tied for third in Conference USA with six goals and tied for fifth with 11 points. She was just one of seven players in C-USA to record three game-winning goals, the most recent coming in Saturday’s win over LA Tech that clinched a spot in the C-USA Championship. Kiss recorded her first career multi-goal game with a brace against Columbus State.

Lipsey finished the regular season tied for the lead in Conference USA in goals (8) and led all C-USA players in points (17), shots (49) and shots on goal (25). She ranks 31st in NCAA in goals and 53rd in points. After recording the first UAB hat trick since 2017 against North Alabama, she was named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week on Feb. 16. Her eight goals ties the second most for UAB in a season since 2010.

Zemberyova was named to the All-Freshman team. She leads all freshmen with five assists and is second in C-USA among freshman and tied for eighth overall in points (11).

The 2021 Conference USA Championship begins Tuesday morning when UAB, the No. 4 West seed, takes on WKU, the No. 1 East seed at 11 a.m.
