UAB Men’s Soccer Set for Saturday Matchup at NC State

BIRMINGHAM– The UAB men’s soccer team is on the road this week to face off against NC State in Raleigh on Saturday at 6 p.m.

“We are excited to finally get our first official match of the spring season in,” said head coach Jeff Kinney. “NC State has been to the NCAA tournament the last three years so we will be tested throughout the match.  It is a great early test on the road for our guys as we start to gear up for league play.”

In their last match, the Blazers won their exhibition against Montevallo 5-1.  UAB had 11 shots with nine on goal.

Tyrell Price tallied two goals while Mayno Linares, Krenar Krasniqi and Heath Flathau all finished the game with one goal each.

NC State finished the 2020 fall season 0-6-1 including a 0-0 tie against then-ranked #5 North Carolina. This is the first meeting between the Blazers and Wolfpack since Sept. 10, 1995. The series is tied 1-1.
