EL PASO, Texas – UAB (14-9, 5-5 C-USA) completed one of their most difficult road trips this season with a pair of wins after defeating UTEP 69-55 on Saturday night. The win marks the first time the Blazers have won in the Haskins Center since Feb. 4, 2012.

It was a back and forth 1st half with a pair of ties and five lead changes in the game’s first five minutes. With the Blazers ahead 13-10, the Miners went on an 8-0 run to grab a 17-13 advantage. UAB would answer by scoring the next six points to go ahead 19-17. Three more ties and three more lead changes would happen before halftime, which was deadlocked at 27-27.

The Blazers would start the 2nd half on a 16-3 run to take a 43-30 lead at the 13:39 mark which included a coast-to-coast steal and basket by Scott-Grayson.

UAB’s lead would grow to 17 points after a Butler layup in the closing minute.
