Two local high school baseball players to play in national all star game in Denver

Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Outfielder Roman Anthony has been selected to play in the MLB-USA baseball High School All-American Game to be played Friday at Coors Field in Denver at 7:00 p.m. It will be broadcast on MLB.com.

Anthony played a major role in Stoneman Douglas winning a Florida 7A state baseball championship and a national baseball championship. He had a .363 batting average and an on base percentage of .514. Anthony hit five home runs, six doubles and a triple. He batted in 22 runs and scored 32 runs.

Brandon Barriera, a pitcher for American Heritage will also play in the game. He pitched in 16 innings and had 26 strikeouts and only five walks. He did not give up an earned run.
