Streaking Owls Fly to WKU

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The first-place Florida Atlantic softball team is winners of seven in a row. The Owls, who have a record of 29-13 and 11-4 in Conference USA action, will face WKU in a three-game set this weekend, April 21-23.

Florida Atlantic sits in first place in the C-USA standings with a .733 winning percentage in conference action, while Charlotte sits behind in second with a .706 winning percentage. One more win will top the Owls’ mark from all of the 2022 season and give FAU its first 30-win season since 2018. This weekend’s games will be streamed on HSSN’s Facebook page.

  • Florida Atlantic is coming off its second-straight sweep last weekend, by defeating UTEP 4-1, 2-1 and 5-1
  • The Owls’ dominant pitching staff, led by Gabby Sacco, has not allowed more than one run in its last six games and no more than two runs in its last seven
  • Sacco was tabbed C-USA Pitcher of the Week for the league-leading third time this season
  • Sacco has a record of 17-3 with a miniscule 1.28 ERA. She leads the conference in wins and ERA while ranking 12 and 18, respectively, in all of NCAA Division I in those categories
  • As a team, FAU ranks 17 in the nation and leads the conference with a 1.99 ERA
  • The seven-game winning streak is FAU’s longest since February 2017, when the Owls rattled off nine in a row
  • Cammeo Presutti, the Owls’ leading hitter with an average of .345, ranks fifth in the conference in hits with 49
  • The Owls rank 56 in the nation and second in the conference in doubles with 56 two-baggers this year. Olivia Peterson leads the squad with 11, good for fourth in C-USA
  • The Owls topped the Lady Toppers two games to one in last year’s series in Boca
  • Riley Olson has been swinging a hot bat, batting 7-16 (.437) with two home runs and four RBI in the last six games
