Bulls finish Top 5 at Windon Memorial Classic

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (September 30, 2024) – Jake Peacock led the University of South Florida men’s golf team at the Windon Memorial Classis. Peacock finished tied for sixth, while the Bulls finished in fifth.

South Florida finished ahead of both the fifth and 25th-ranked teams in the nation in Illinois and Pepperdine, respectively. The Bulls posted a three-round tally of 860 (+8). As a unit, USF collected 49 birdies.

Peacock finished the weekend with a 210 (-3) and tied for sixth. He posted a low round of 68 in round 1 and followed up with a 72 and 70 in rounds 2 and 3. He finished with 11 birdies through his three rounds bringing his early season total to 25. 

Shubham Jaglan finished strong in round 3 to finish with a 213 (E) for his three-round score. Jaglan finished tied for twelfth and moved up four spots on the leaderboard after round 2. Jaglan got his first and the team’s first eagle of the year on the 8th hole.

Cooper Smith posted a three-round score of 216 (+3) and tied for twentieth. He posted a low round of 69 (-2) in his second round this week. He compiled seven birdies for the tournament.

Wilhelm Ryding finished the tournament with six birdies. Matthew Joseph finished the tournament with 3 birdies extending his season total to nine.

South Florida is back on the links on Sunday, October 6, in Estero, Florida. The Bulls are preparing for the West Bay Collegiate at the West Bay Club, hosted by Florida Gulf Coast University.

The USF men’s golf program has captured 19 conference titles and has seen players earn 19 All-America honors. The Bulls have won six American Athletic Conference Tournament championships in wire-to-wire fashion, winning four consecutive from 2015-18. The Bulls have had four individual conference champions, including Albin Bergstrom in 2021, and gone on to earn nine straight NCAA Regional appearances, including a 6th place finish in NCAA Championship match-play in 2015. USF is led by Steve Bradley, who has been named American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year five times since taking over the program in 2014. The Bulls have posted 24 tournament wins under Bradley including three in the 2023-24 season, by far the most under any coach in program history.
