RICH’S TOP TEN

1. Clemson

2. Alabama

3. Georgia

4. Oklahoma

5. Ohio State

6. LSU

7. UCF (8)

8. Michigan (7)

9. Penn State

10. Notre Dame

OTHER TEAMS TO MENTION (OTM): Wisconsin and Utah

RANKINGS ANALYSIS:

As you can see, the top six remain the same… I have undefeated UCF and Michigan trade places. The UCF Golden Knights have a more better chance of having a road win over Pittsburgh this SAT than the U-M Wolverines have a road win over Wisconsin, who is among my OTMs, this SAT (Noon, FOX). The Michigan defense will have their hands full trying to stop Wisconsin RB Jonathan Taylor (the 2018 Doak Walker Award Winner). If the Badgers beat the Wolverines, Wisconsin will definitely be in the top ten everywhere….The biggest coming up this week will be #10 Notre Dame at #3 Georgia. All-SEC RB D’Andre Swift better step his game up for the Bulldogs to have a home win over the Fighting Irish. If N-D defeats Georgia, I have to put the Irish in the top five…#9 Penn State survived a harder than expected 17-10 home win over rival Pittsburgh in the 100th meeting of these in-state rivals. The Nittany Lions better use this bye-week to regroup as they get ready for a Sept. 28 road game against Maryland…#4 Oklahoma will use this bye-week to get ready for their next three games, including a Sept. 28 home game against Texas Tech. QB Jalen Hurts and the Sooners better not look past the Red Raiders and (at) the Kansas Jayhawks (Oct. 5) for their annual Red River Showdown (in Dallas, TX) against rival Texas…#6 Ohio State took care of Indiana in a 51-10 road win over the Hoosiers. The Buckeyes haven’t missed a beat after losing Big Ten MVP QB Dwayne Haskins. Ohio State will have a home game against another little brother from their home state named Miami (OH) this SAT (3:30 PM, BTN)…#6 LSU made easy work of having a 65-14 home win over Northwestern State. LSU has a road game against Vanderbilt this SAT (Noon, SECN)…Utah is coming off a 31-0 home win over Idaho State. The Utes have a road game against USC this FRI (9 PM, FS1). The Trojans are coming off a tough road loss against BYU this past Sat.  If Utah beats USC, the Utes will be in the top ten…No surprise that #1 Clemson had a 41-6 road win over Syracuse. The Orange gave all kinds of feits to the Tigers in the last two meetings. The only difference now is Syracuse QB Eric Dungey graduated…#2 Alabama had a tough 1st half but took care of business in the 2nd half in a 47-24 road win over South Carolina….Even though Florida is on a 3-0 start and were among my OTMs last week, the Gators lost QB Felipe Franks during a 29-21 road win over Kentucky. Franks is a difference-maker for the Florida offense but who else on that offense can make things happen? This Gators have one of the best defenses in the SEC. Florida will host Tennessee this SAT (Noon, ESPN)…ALL TEAMS who are on a 3-0 start are halfway to bowl eligibility…
