Pompano Beach to add Pay-By-Phone app for beach and surface parking

From David Volz

Residents and visitors of the City of Pompano Beach will now have an additional contactless parking option and residents are now eligible for a discounted parking rate.

In addition to the Passport Parking app, the City has now added the Pay-By-Phone app to its beach and surface parking. Residents and visitors can download the Pay-By-Phone app unto any smart phone or mobile device.

Residents without a smart phone or other mobile device may call 888-680- 7275 to initiate a parking session. To register, just have your credit or debit card handy. Additionally, a new 20% discounted resident rate is available when using the Pay-By-Phone app by visiting the Pompano Beach Pier Garage Office at 3460 NE 3rd Street to register for the discounted resident rate and to provide proof of residency. Residents may also complete a form online and upload the required proof of residency documents at https://forms.pompanobeachfl.gov/rpa. The City of Pompano Beach is also expanding Pay-By-Phone to parking spaces, on-street and off[1]street across the City, providing another contactless choice for drivers to pay for parking.

Since several other local cities use Pay-By-Phone, and people already have the app on their phone, the City is providing another option to make parking hassle free. The Pay-By-Phone payment app sends text messages automatically, when a parking session expires, providing drivers the ability to extend their parking session without needing to return to their vehicle. Drivers can also begin a session without registering for an account, making it ideal for those who are short on time.
