Pleskevich Tabbed to C-USA All-Academic Team

BOCA RATON, Fla. – On the same day as the play-in round of the 2022 Supply Heritage Landscape Supply Group Conference USA Championship, Rita Pleskevich of the Florida Atlantic University women’s basketball team has been named to the C-USA All-Academic Team. Pleskevich is just one of five to be recognized with the honor and the first Owl since 2016 to win the award.

The redshirt senior boasts a 3.765 GPA as a marketing and finance double major, and she is set to graduate in the spring. Pleskevich was honored to the Dean’s List, top 3% of college, as well as a C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll member.

On the court, Pleskevich is just as impressive. As a C-USA Honorable Mention choice, Pleskevich has started in all 29 games, averaging a team’s most 32.5 minutes per game. Pleskevich averages 11.2 points per game with a .381 shooting percentage (131-for-344), as well as pulls down 3.9 boards per game. She earned a career-high 21 points in the Owls’ win over UTEP and versus WKU, in which Pleskevich also tallied nine rebounds.

Pleskevich is the first Owl to be tabbed to the C-USA All-Academic Team since 2016 when Alison Gorrell did so. This also marks the fourth time an Owl has ever been named to the C-USA All-Academic Team.
