PANTHERS POSTGAME QUOTES – FEB. 7, 2021

Head Coach Joel Quenneville

“I didn’t think we had the quality or the quantity that we would’ve liked, but they played hard today, they played well in front of him [DET goaltender Thomas Greiss], didn’t get enough shots through or enough traffic to get the quality that we wanted.”

“I thought he [goaltender Chris Driedger] had a good game, I thought he gave us a chance.”

“Outside of today’s game, I thought we’ve been consistent in most games whether ahead or behind, we seem to be playing the same way and don’t change the approach and stick with it. Today was one of the games it seemed like we were chasing the game more than in the past.”

Forward Alex Wennberg

“Obviously it’s not the result we wanted. There’s a lot of things we can learn from this. You’ve just got to look at it and then do better next game.”

“We can’t bury our heads too much. It’s a different schedule, we’re playing them again and I feel like that’s a great opportunity to get back at it.”

“It’s a tough loss but we just try to stay positive and look at the next one.”

Forward Jonathan Huberdeau

“They’re a good team, they work hard. I thought Greiss [DET goaltender Thomas Greiss] was really good tonight, we had some chances and he stopped a lot of pucks.”

“I think we’ve got to forget about it, our first loss in regulation, and come back and be ready for the next one.”

“We’ve just got to come back Tuesday and be better and put it in the back of the net.”

“I thought he [goaltender Chris Driedger] played well, he made the saves when we needed them and kept us in the game…When he’s in net I think we just feel calm in front of him.”
