PANTHERS POSTGAME QUOTES – FEB. 4, 2021

Head Coach Joel Quenneville

“Definitely disappointed in the way things transpired, I think we can learn from it.”

“Sometimes those types of comebacks against you, that’s definitely a learning curve, being comfortable and wanting to be out there in those situations. We could have played it better on the fourth goal.”

“Yeah he [forward Jonathan Huberdeau] had it going. He made several top plays, good patience, great play on the first goal with protecting the puck and beating the goalie and the defenseman not being able to get to it. Got us off started right away and our power play had several great plays. Nice to see him have that type of production.”

Forward Jonathan Huberdeau

“I’m happy to get it [first career hat trick] out of the way, first one. But it would have been just nice to get a win tonight. I think we should’ve won that one, a tough one to lose. We’re back it tomorrow, but a tough one tonight.”

“At least we got a point, but tonight we just have to forget about it. Tomorrow we are going to wake up, it’s a new day and we know what to expect. We have to be better defensively. I thought offensively we had some chances, and we just have to be the same offensively and a little better defensively.”

Forward Aleksander Barkov

“All you can do is get rest, get a good sleep and come back tomorrow. Take those little things that you needed to do better to the next game and we’re going to be fine. We had two good teams playing against each other, anything can happen. We’ve just got to clean some things up.”

“It’s always a lot of fun to see him [forward Jonathan Huberdeau] scoring and being confident on the ice. He’s one of the most skilled players in the league, when he’s confident he can do anything on the ice. Really happy for him to finally get the hat trick and help us to get the point tonight.”

Defenseman Aaron Ekblad

“Obviously we would’ve liked to enjoy a different outcome. I thought we battled hard tonight and are looking forward to tomorrow.”
