Owls Take Four-Game Winning Streak Into UTEP Series

*Update 4/13* Friday’s game against UTEP has been postponed due to travel issues.

BOCA RATON, Fla. 
– Florida Atlantic University softball has won four games in a row and is fresh off a sweep over FIU last weekend. The Owls will look to stay hot with a three-game set against UTEP at home this weekend.

FAU is currently second place in the Conference USA standings with an 8-4 mark, and is 26-13 overall on the season.

NEWS & NOTES

  • The Owls used strong pitching and timely hitting to sweep the last series over the Panthers by scores of 2-1, 1-0 and 1-0
  • Gabby Sacco led the charge with a 2-0 record and no earned runs. Sacco threw two complete games, going the full 10 innings in game one
  • For her efforts, Sacco was named C-USA Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season. Sacco now has a C-USA leading 1.32 ERA and is the conference leader in wins with 15. Her two complete games last weekend put her at 10 on the season with five shutouts
  • As a team, FAU has a 2.07 ERA, which ranks the Owls 24 in the nation
  • Ainsley Lambert is second on the team with a 1.94 ERA
  • Cammeo Presutti is the Owls’ leading hitter with a .343 batting average
  • FAU is 18-6 in home games this season
  • The Owls are 8-4 all-time in the head-to-head series against the Miners
