Owls Soar Up to No. 7 in the AP Top 25

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University’s men’s basketball team (10-2) continues to soar in The Associated Press’ Top 25 ranking, moving up to No. 7 in the latest rankings as announced by the AP on Monday.

The No. 7 ranking is the highest in FAU history. The Owls rose seven spots from their No. 14 ranking last week, making them the biggest upward mover of the week in the poll as well.

The Owls are coming off a 96-95, double-overtime victory against then-No. 4 Arizona in Las Vegas on Saturday.

Junior guard Johnell Davis led the offense, scoring 35 points, going 15-27 from the field and 4-5 from the line. Davis also registered 9 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals.

Florida Atlantic continued to show its ability to win in multiple ways, this time having to come from behind. The Owls were down 14 points at 19-5 early against Arizona, cut it to six at halftime and then survived a wild final 30 minutes – the second half, then two 5-minute OT sessions.

The Owls are also moving up in the NET rankings, now No. 6 in the nation.
