NFL to Host Flag Football Showdown between Team Metro Boomin and Team 21 Savage During Super Bowl LVIII Week

Two Hip-Hop Icons Will Compete for First Time in Epic Flag Football Game on Friday, Feb. 9 at Super Bowl Experience Presented by Toyota

NFL Legends Michael Vick and Cam Newton to play quarterback, artists and creators, Including Teyana Taylor, Offset, Keith Lee, Funny Marco and More, to Make Up Teams

NEW YORK — Feb. 6, 2024 —The NFL announced an epic showdown between Grammy-award winning record producer Metro Boomin and Grammy-Award winning rapper 21 Savage, who will have teams compete in a flag football game on Friday, Feb. 9 during Super Bowl LVIII week. The live game will take place at 8:00 PM PT at the Play Football Field within Super Bowl Experience Presented by Toyota, the NFL’s interactive football theme park located in the Mandalay Bay South Convention Center in Las Vegas. Fans are encouraged to arrive early. The matchup between Team Metro Boomin and Team 21 Savage is a part of a series of creator and artist flag football games, which started at Super Bowl LVI in Los Angeles. The game will consist of 6-on-6 players outfitted in custom jerseys from Nike. NFL Legends Michael Vick and Cam Newton will play quarterback with artists and content creators making up each team, along with surprise guest appearances. With rules and officiating from Reigning Champs, an NFL’s official flag football partner, the flag game will feature NFL Legend and sports personality Andrew “Hawk” Hawkins, award-winning artist and City Girls’ Yung Miami, NFL Legend and comedian/content creator Lou Young and WNBA player Syd Colson as hosts. Metro Boomin is an award-winning record producer, currently nominated for two Grammy Awards. 21 Savage is a Grammy-Award winning rapper who just released his album “American Dream,” which hit #1 on the Billboard Charts. He’s currently nominated for five Grammy Awards. The NFL’s ongoing collaborations with artists and creators, as well as its series of creator flag football games, are key parts of the league’s strategy to authentically connect with younger fans and keep the brand fresh and modern. The most recent creator flag football game at the 2023 NFL Draft yielded over 40M views.
