New Start Time – UAB Women’s Soccer Visits Crosstown Rival Samford on Thursday at 5 p.m.

BIRMINGHAM – Winners of two straight matches, UAB (3-2-0) travels across town to visit Samford (0-0-0) on Thursday evening. The new kickoff time at Samford Track and Soccer Stadium will be at 5 p.m.

ABOUT UAB
The Blazers defeated North Alabama 5-0 on Feb. 14. Lexxe Lipsey recorded her first career hat trick against the Lions en route to earning Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week honors. Lipsey leads C-USA with four goals and is second with eight points.

ABOUT SAMFORD
This is Samford’s first match of the year. The Bulldogs did not play during the fall season. Samford was selected to finish first in the Southern Conference. The Bulldogs return four preseason All-Conference players in Taylor Yount, Alyssa Frazier, Lexi Orman and Morgan McAslan.

THE SERIES VS. SAMFORD
Thursday’s match will be the eighth time the Blazers and Bulldogs meet. The series began in 2007 with the Bulldogs edging out the Blazers 2-1 in overtime. The following season, UAB was a 1-0 winner. The teams exchanged wins in the next four matchups before tying 0-0 last season. The series is tied 3-3-1.
