MOTOR CITY CRUISE VS CLEVELAND CHARGE POSTGAME RECAP

CHARGE TREAT RECORD CROWD TO HEROIC WIN

CLEVELAND, OH – The Cleveland Charge (6-1) defeated the Motor City Cruise (1-6), 120-100, in front of 4,294 fans at CSU’s Wolstein Center for Charge/Marvel Super Hero Night, the highest attendance in Cleveland Charge history.

The Charge were paced by double-doubles from their Two-Way Player duo: Mamadi Diakite had 22 points, 10 rebounds and three steals while Isaiah Mobley scored 11 points and grabbed 10 boards.  Sharife Cooper continued his strong play to start the season by pouring in 26 points, grabbing six rebounds, dishing four assists and nabbing two steals in 34 minutes.  Sam Merrill and Nate Hinton each notched 19 points to round out all five starters scoring double digits.

Tied 79-79 entering the fourth quarter, Cleveland rolled off a 7-0 run to begin the period and take a commanding lead that they would never relinquish.  The Charge outscored the Cruise 41-21 in the fourth quarter, hitting 61% of their shots from the field and 63% of their three-point attempts to take a 2-0 season series lead over their most proximate opponents.

Motor City’s Devontae Cacok had a game-high 28 points on 12-of-21 from the field with 12 rebounds and two steals in 30 minutes.  Stanley Umude scored 16 points and grabbed eight boards in 36 minutes.  Former Charge G R.J. Nembhard scored 13 points and grabbed three steals in 33 minutes.  Another former Charge G, ShawnDre Jones, added 10 points and four assists in 27 minutes off the bench.
