MIAMI MARLINS TO DISTRIBUTE BRANDED FACE MASKS AT MONDAY’S FOOD DISTRIBUTION AT MARLINS PARK

More than 500 families from local community to receive masks and meals

MIAMI – The Miami Marlins continue the organization’s on-going efforts in supporting the local community during the current pandemic. On Monday, June 29, the Marlins and Miami Marlins Foundation will distribute Foundation-branded face masks at the organization’s drive-thru only food distribution at Marlins Park on Monday, June 29, which begins at 12:30 p.m. Marlins alumnus Gaby Sanchez will be on site assisting with the food distribution.

The Monday drive-thru only food distribution is in partnership with Feeding South Florida and provides support specifically to students from Miami-Dade County Public Schools in the Little Havana community. With the end of the 2019-20 school year concluding at the beginning of June, the Miami Marlins and Miami Marlins Foundation stepped up to the plate to provide meals to students and their families from local schools in Little Havana and Liberty City through weekly food distributions in the month of June.

On April 2, the Marlins launched the Home Plate Meals Relief Fund to immediately jump into action and provide much needed meals for those dealing with food security issues. Through the launch of the Home Plate Meals Relief Fund, more than 345,000 meals have been distributed to local communities, and more than 225,000 meals for students.
