Miami Dolphins promote Hartage

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have promoted safety Montre Hartage to the active roster and waived cornerback Marcus Sherels.

Hartage played in one game with the Dolphins and has spent multiple stints on the Miami practice squad this season. He made one solo tackle in his NFL debut in Week 13 vs. Philadelphia. Hartage originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Miami on May 9, 2019. He was a four-year letterman (2015-18) and three-year starter at Northwestern, where he earned first-team All-Big Ten honors as a senior in 2018.

Sherels played in five games with the Dolphins and played primarily on special teams. He had six punt returns for 23 yards (3.8 avg.) and three kickoff returns for 57 yards (19.0 avg.). Sherels played 10 seasons (2010-19) in Minnesota and has totaled 128 games played in his NFL career. He originally entered the league as an undrafted college free agent with the Vikings on May 5, 2010.
