POSTGAME NOTES
DOLPHINS BEAT JETS , WIN THIRD IN A ROW
• Today’s win is Miami’s third in a row. The last time the Dolphins had a three-game winning streak was from Oct. 11,
2020 to Nov. 15, 2020 when they won five games in a row.
• This is Miami’s seventh win in its past eight meetings with the N.Y. Jets, including wins in the past three.
• It’s the first time the Dolphins have won two AFC East road games in the same season since 2016. The Dolphins won
at New England in Week 1.
• Miami is now 9-3 all-time in November under Brian Flores since he became the team’s head coach in 2019,
including a 7-1 mark in the month in the past two seasons.
• The Dolphins are 15-6 in games played after Halloween in the Flores era.
• This is Miami’s eighth all-time win at MetLife Stadium since it opened in 2010. The Dolphins are 8-4 at MetLife
Stadum against the Jets and 0-2 against the Giants.
• The Dolphins are 56-55-1 against the Jets all-time, including one playoff game.
• Today was the 900th game in Miami Dolphins history. The Dolphins are now 491-405-4 (.548) all-time (including
playoffs).
DOLPHINS TAKE 21 – 14 LEAD ON 14 – PLAY DRIVE
• After the Jets tied the game at 14-14 near the end of the third quarter, the Dolphins offense put together a lengthy
touchdown drive to take the lead back at 21-14.
• Miami went 75 yards on 14 plays and took 7:44 off the clock to take the lead.
o The 14-play drive was tied for the longest possession by plays by Miami this season.
o The 7:44 time of the drive was the third-longest drive by the Dolphins this year.
• QB Tua Tagovailoa was very efficient on the possession, completing all eight of his passes for 68 yards and a 5-yard
touchdown pass to RB Myles Gaskin.
• The drive proved to be the game-winner. It was the third game-winning drive of Tagovailoa’s career.
• The Dolphins followed that possession with another lengthy scoring drive, holding the ball for 6:53 and kicking a
field goal to go up 24-14.
o Miami wound up possessing the ball for 11:53 of the fourth quarter.
TAGOVAILOA FINDS HOLLINS FOR LONGEST PLAY OF DOLPHINS SEASON
• With the game tied at seven midway through the third quarter, QB Tua Tagovailoa stepped up in the pocket and
found a streaking WR Mack Hollins for a 65-yard touchdown. It gave Miami a 14-7 lead.
• The 65-yard play is Miami’s longest of the season a week after their previous long, which was a 64-yard pass from
Tagovailoa to WR Albert Wilson in the Week 10 win vs. Baltimore.
• It was the longest completion of Tagovailoa’s career and the longest reception of Hollins’ career.

DOLPHINS OPEN GAME WITH TOUCHDOWN DRIVE
• Miami received the opening kickoff and went 83 yards on 11 plays in 5:56 to take a 7-0 lead.
• WR Jaylen Waddle scored on a 1-yard run. It was the fourth touchdown of his career and first rushing score.
o He’s the second rookie wide receiver in the NFL to score a rushing touchdown this season, joining N.Y. Jets
WR Elijah Campbell.
• Miami has now scored on five of their 11 opening possessions this season, including a touchdown on four of those.
• QB Tua Tagovailoa was 6-of-6 (100.0 pct.) for 61 yards on that first drive, completing passes of 26 yards to TE Mike
Gesicki and 19 yards to TE Adam Shaheen.

MIAMI CONTINUES TO FORCE FUMBLES AND TAKE THE BALL AWAY
• The Dolphins entered Week 11 in the top 10 of the NFL in both fumble recoveries (4th, 8) and takeaways (T-7th, 15)
and added to both totals in the first half.
• S Brandon Jones came free on a blitz and hit N.Y. Jets QB Joe Flacco, knocking the ball free. DT Christian Wilkins
grabbed the ball out of the air and ran the other direction.
o For Jones, it was his third sack of the season and first forced fumble. He also forced a fumble as a rookie in
2020.
o It was the third fumble recovery of Wilkins’ career. He has a fumble recovery in each of his three NFL
seasons.
o It was the seventh quarterback hit of the season for Jones, which is the most by an NFL defensive back this
season.
• The Dolphins rank tied for third with nine fumble recoveries and tied for seventh with 16 takeaways.*
DEFENSE HOLDS JETS TO 17 POINTS
• The Dolphins limited the Jets to 380 total yards today. It’s the sixth consecutive game the Dolphins have held an
opponent to under 400 yards – the team’s longest such streak since Sept. 29, 2019 to Nov. 10, 2019.
• Since Week 8, the Dolphins are fourth in the NFL in scoring defense (15.5 ppg), and seventh in rushing defense (92.8 ypg). o The Dolphins rank third in sacks (11) and are tied for fifth in takeaways (7) in that span. TAGOVAILOA POSTS CAREER – BEST 81.8 COMPLETION PCT. • QB Tua Tagovailoa had an efficient afternoon, completing 27-of-33 passes (81.8 pct.) for 273 yards and two touchdowns. • The 81.8 completion percentage was the highest of his career and best by a Dolphins quarterback since QB Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 90.0 pct. of his passes on Sept. 24, 2020 at Jacksonville. Since Week 6, he is 37-of-49 (75.5 pct.) for 458 yards, four touchdowns and has a 114.2 passer rating in the fourth quarter of games. o In the fourth quarter of games since Week 6, his 458 passing yards lead the NFL while his 9.4 yards per attempt and 114.2 passer rating both rank fifth.
WADDLE LEADS DOLPHINS WITH EIGHT RECEPTIONS
• WR Jaylen Waddle caught eight passes for 65 yards (8.1 avg.) today in addition to his rushing touchdown.
• The eight receptions give him 68 on the season, which is the most by any NFL rookie and fourth among all NFL
players.*

• RB Duke Johnson played in his first game for the Dolphins. He is a Miami native, attending Norland High School
and the University of Miami.
• The Dolphins did not allow a sack for the second time this season – other time was Week 6 at Jacksonville in London.
• CB Nik Needham recorded his 150th career tackle today.
• K Jason Sanders extended his PAT streak to 66 consecutive makes, the longest active streak in the NFL.
• TE Durham Smythe had four receptions for 37 yards (9.3 avg.) today. It gives him 221 receiving yards this season,
which is a new career high. His previous career high was 208 receiving yards in 2020.
• DE Emmanuel Ogbah recorded a pass defensed today for the sixth consecutive game. It gives him eight on the
