DOLPHINS EXTEND TURNOVER STREAK TO 26 GAMES
• LS Blake Ferguson recovered a muffed punt from Indianapolis RB Nyheim Hines early in the first quarter, extending
Miami’s takeaway streak to 26 games, the longest active mark in the NFL.
• The last time the Dolphins didn’t record a takeaway was Nov. 17, 2019 vs. Buffalo. They’ve recorded multiple
takeaways in 11 of the 25 games during the streak.
• The streak is the third longest in Dolphins history and longest since a 42-game streak from Dec. 5, 1982 to Oct. 6,
1985.
• It’s the longest takeaway streak in the NFL since New England had a 36-game streak from Oct. 16, 2011 to Nov. 3,
2013.
• It was the first fumble recovery of Ferguson’s career.
• The fumble recovery was the fourth of the season for Miami, tied for the second-most in the NFL at the end of
today’s early afternoon games.
GESICKI AND PARKER SCORE FIRST TDs OF 2021
• TE Mike Gesicki caught a 1-yard touchdown pass from QB Jacoby Brissett in the fourth quarter. It was his 12th
touchdown reception in his past 25 games and his first of the season.
o Gesicki’s 12 touchdowns in that span (since Nov. 20, 2019) is the fourth-most by a tight end in the NFL and
tied for 13th among all NFL players.
o Gesicki finished the game with five receptions for 57 yards (11.4 avg.) a week following a 10-reception
performance at Las Vegas in Week 3.
• WR DeVante Parker caught four passes for 77 yards (19.3 avg.) and one touchdown on a 3-yard pass from Brissett.
o It was the first touchdown of the season by Parker, who now has 14 touchdown receptions since the start of
the 2019 campaign.
o Parker has recorded at least four receptions and 40+ yards in all four games this season.
