Miami Dade opens new testing center

Miami-Dade County opened a new COVID testing site at the I-75 Park & Ride testing site, located at I-75 and NW 186 Street (Miami Gardens Drive), Hialeah, FL 33018, open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

In response to the increased demand for testing, this week Miami-Dade County opened three new sites and expanded the schedule at the Zoo Miami testing site to 24 hours.

In addition, the County encourages the public to avoid long lines at the most popular sites: Tropical Park, South Dade Government Center, Zoo Miami, Aventura Mall, Miami Beach 17th St Garage and Dolphin Mall by taking advantage of the many other testing sites available Countywide.

“There is no question that the Omicron variant is spreading rapidly, and that’s why it’s critical that we all continue to follow the basic steps that protect us especially around New Year’s,” said Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “Get vaccinated and get boosted – it’s the single best measure we can take to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe against Omicron, as the latest research shows the booster prevents hospitalization and serious illness due to the variant. Get tested if you’ve been exposed or have symptoms, and isolate if you’re sick. Wear a mask around large crowds. And I urge you to take advantage of our gorgeous weather this time of year and take your celebrations outdoors. We’ve come so far already as a community by following the steps that we know work. By using common sense and taking basic precautions to fight the spread, we’ll get through the holidays safely together and begin the New Year stronger than ever.”
