Men’s Soccer’s Sandmann Nets SSC Offensive Player of the Week

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Levin Sandmann garnered the Sunshine State Conference’s (SSC) Offensive Player of the Week Award after tallying five points in Lynn University men’s soccer’s two triumphs over No. 21 Palm Beach Atlantic and Tampa, as announced on Monday afternoon.

A 6-2 senior from Heidelburg, Germany, Sandmann notched his second assist of the season on the Blue and White’s third goal in a 3-1 win over PBA. He then followed that with a two-goal outing in a 3-2 home victory versus Tampa for a five-point week.

Sandmann’s 14 points on the season rank sixth in the SSC and are tops among head coach John Rootes’ group. His six goals are also the most for Lynn trailed by Hombach’s five and Lukas Ostermann’s four.

This marks Lynn’s third Offensive Player of the Week Award for 2019 as Sandmann joins Rodrigo Fernandez (Sept. 9) and Lukas Hombach (Oct. 7) in receiving this accolade. Blue and White goalkeeper Konstantin Fuhry also earned a weekly award, taking home Defensive Player of the Week (Oct. 7) to make it four total weekly awards for the Fighting Knight men this season.

The Fighting Knights look to maintain their unblemished record when they travel to Embry-Riddle on Saturday, Oct. 26 for a 7 p.m. match in Daytona Beach, Fla.
