Men’s Golf Heads to South Carolina for Wofford Invitational

The Bulls are looking for their second win in their last three tournaments.

TAMPA, FLA., April 2, 2023 – The USF men’s golf team will compete in the Wofford Invitational in Spartanburg, N.C. April 3-4.

The tournament will be played at CC of Spartanburg (Par-71, 6,703 Yards). Teams will begin play Monday with a shotgun start at 9:00 AM.

USF will compete in an 18-team field with: Appalachian State, Charleston Southern, Chattanooga, Francis Marion, Furman, Gardner-Webb, Miami University (OH), Presbyterian College, Queens Univ. of Charlotte, Radford, S. Carolina – Aiken, Samford, USC Upstate, Western Carolina, Winthrop, Wofford College, and Wofford College as “B” Team.

Head Coach Steve Bradley announced the following competitors for the Bulls: 

Jake Peacock (So., Milton, Ga.), Shubham Jaglan (So., Delhi, India), Sam Nicholson (Jr., Atlantic Beach, Fla.), Nino Palmquist (Fr., Halmstad, Sweden), Chase Gullikson (So., Orlando, Fla.)

LAST TIME OUT

The Bulls finished tied for eighth out of 16 teams with a strong field at the Linger Longer Invitational after posting their first win of the season the week before.

Sophomore Jake Peacock led the Bulls, finishing with a closing round 2-under 70 helping the Bulls to move up a spot in the final round.

About USF Men’s Golf

The USF men’s golf program has captured 17 conference titles and has seen players earn 19 All-America honors. The Bulls have won five American Athletic Conference Tournament championships in wire-to-wire fashion, winning four-consecutive from 2015-18. The Bulls have had four individual conference champions, including Albin Bergstrom in 2021, and gone on to earn nine straight NCAA Regional appearances, including a 6th place finish in NCAA Championship match-play in 2015. USF is led by Steve Bradley, who has been named American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year five times since taking over the program in 2014. The Bulls have posted 20 tournament wins under Bradley entering the 2022-23 season, by far the most under any coach in program history.
