Martin Earns AAC Player of the Week Honors

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Junior guard Alijah Martin of the No. 13 Florida Atlantic University men’s basketball team was named AAC Player of the Week, announced by the league office Monday afternoon. 

The Owls went 3-0 in the 2023 ESPN Events Invitational in Kissimmee, Fla from Nov. 23-26. Martin finished the tournament with 55 points, averaging 18.3 points per game. He recorded a total of five steals, six assists, 10 three-pointers, and 17 rebounds. 

For the first time this season, Martin recorded a start against Butler and remained in the starting five throughout the weekend. Against Virginia Tech, he went 3-4 from beyond the arc and 5-9 from the field in 28 minutes played. Attacking the board, he ended the afternoon with seven defensive rebounds and an offensive rebound.

Florida Atlantic is back at the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena for the three-team Field of 68 Classic. The Owls will host Liberty on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 6 p.m. and Charleston on Saturday, Dec. 2. Both games will tip off at 6 p.m. and aired on ESPNU.
