NCAA Tournament

Indianapolis, Ind. – Lynn University’s women’s golf team has qualified for the NCAA Division II Women’s South Regional Tournament, as announced by the NCAA.  This is the eighth consecutive appearance for the Fighting Knights and 16th overall.

The South Regional will be held May 6-8, at the Cleveland Country Club in Cleveland, Tenn.  The top-four teams and top-four individuals from non-qualifying teams advance to the NCAA Division II National Championship May 14-18, at PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Lynn heads to the tournament as one of the hottest teams in the country, having defeated top-ranked and No. 1 seed Barry as well as No. 2 seed Nova Southeastern (3rd) in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament.  The Blue and White (7th) earned the third seed followed by Saint Leo (17th), Limestone (11th), Florida Southern (13th), Tampa (19th), Rollins (12th), Lee (20th), Flagler (21st) and Anderson.  Ten of the top-25 ranked teams in the country hail from the South/Southeast regions.

The Fighting Knights are familiar with the Cleveland Country Club as the squad took third place at the Lady Flames Regional Preview on Oct. 2.  All-SSC selections Helen Kreuzer and Kristina Ortiz both finished in the top-10.  That duo carried Lynn early in the season but the emergence of Matilda Wahren and Cristina Gutierrez has given hope the team can make its first national championship appearance since 2015.
