Lions Are An Explosive Offense!

Lions Are An Explosive Offense!
By Jeremy T. Ballreich

The past 2 weeks are turning the heads of not only the Same Ol’ Lions Fans, but also getting the attention in the NFL Power Rankings. The Lions have methodically risen 10 spots from 26 to 16th.

Last week after a close loss to the Preseason Paper Champions (Eagles), the Lions backed it up with another Explosive offensive start. For the first time since the 1970 Lions, the Lions have scored 35 points or more in the first 2 weeks of the season and for the first time since 1952-53 season for 3 consecutive regular season games.

That being said a good reason why is the RB room with D’Andre Swift emerging as the clear number 1 on the team. And it isn’t even close. Jamal Williams will continue to be the goal line guy. But Swift has had 50+ yard runs in consecutive games. Not to mention the 4th fastest play of the week. Clocked at 21.09 MPH! Amon-Ra St. Brown with a 68 yard Fake HB Dive End Around. He is becoming to this offense what Golden Tate was for Stafford.

The WR room, while has some work to clean up (mostly drops and communication issues), it is the Amon-Ra ‘The Sun God’ St. Brown leading in every WR category on the team. Looking like he is ascending to be a very versatile weapon.

The Oline, possibly the deepest room talent wise on the roster (3 starters out this past week). Could be the best overall room in the NFL. Has faced 2 of the better Dlines in the NFL consecutively and looked very cohesive as a unit.
QB play, between wrong routes, drops and everything else. Jared Goff has manage these two games with only 1 key negative stat so far. Has 471 yards, 6 TDs, and 1 INT. Being the Game Manager I have expected him to be. Neither being the reason we lose or win a game. But effective enough to keep us in it.

Lions have scored 71 points total, which is enough to earn a tie with Kansas City Chiefs in scoring. That is tied for 2nd in the entire NFL.
If this offense continues to play with this type of explosiveness. They will be hard to stop! Just need the defense to hold teams to under 27 points. Not unreasonable if you ask me.
