Lexxe Lipsey Earns NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship


BIRMINGHAM –
 UAB’s Lexxe Lipsey was recently awarded an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. The scholarships are awarded to student-athletes who excel academically and athletically and who are at least in their final year of intercollegiate athletics competition.

“I am honored to receive this scholarship,” said Lipsey. “I’m thankful to everyone investing in my continued education and soccer career.”

Lipsey graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in English with a minor in Spanish in December of 2020 and is currently pursuing her MBA. She was named to the 2020 Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll and is a two-time member of the UAB Presidential Honor Roll.

The Southfield, Mich. native began her career at Ohio State where she was a BIG 10 Distinguished Scholar, Academic All-BIG 10 and a The Ohio State University Scholar-Athlete.         

She also has won the Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports-Scholar Award and was a member of National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

On the field, the forward currently leads all Conference USA players with six goals and 12 points.

The one-time non-renewable scholarship of $10,000 are awarded three times a year corresponding to each sport season (fall, winter and spring). Each sports season there are 21 scholarships available for men and 21 scholarships available for women for use in an accredited graduate program.

All former student-athletes who earned an undergraduate degree from an NCAA member school are eligible to be nominated by that school for an NCAA graduate degree scholarship, regardless of when they received their undergraduate degree.
