Jonathan India bobblehead, military appreciation, specialty jerseys on tap for final six of ‘Tugas two-week homestand

Thirsty Thursday, Prostate Cancer Awareness, and Summer Reading Nights also on schedule

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Daytona Tortugas remain home at Jackie Robinson Ballpark for the second stretch of six games during their two-week homestand. On Tuesday, August 16, the Clearwater Threshers, the Florida State League affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, will come to town. Among the highlights of the final six contests is Military Appreciation Night, including a hat giveaway on Thursday, a Copa de la Diversión celebration on Friday, and a Jonathan India bobblehead giveaway on Saturday.

The Tortugas continue the homestand on Tuesday, August 16, with another Shell Yeah Cookout. The $15 add-on includes the full “Bases Loaded” menu during a 90-minute buffet with hot dogs, hamburgers, pulled pork, baked beans, cookies, Pepsi products, and more. It is also a Breast Cancer Awareness Night presented by Radiology Associates Imaging. The Tortugas will don unique pink-clad uniforms that will be auctioned off at the end of the season with all proceeds to raise money and awareness in the fight against breast cancer. Silver Sluggers Night presented by Conviva is a part of the festivities. The exclusive 60-and-older club features deals at the team store and concession stands for members and more. The series opener also marks a Taco Tuesday with options at the concession stands starting at just $3. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

Fans are advised to arrive with an empty stomach on Wednesday, August 17, for a Belly Buster Wednesday presented by Marco’s Pizza. A long-standing fan favorite, starting at just $14, patrons will receive a bracelet and may indulge in all-you-care-to-eat hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, and popcorn at concession stands all evening long. The first pitch of game two is set for 7:05 p.m.

The biggest party in Central Florida returns to the World’s Most Famous Beach on Thursday, August 18, with a Thirsty Thursday™ presented by Bud Light. All fans will be able to beat the heat and enjoy their favorite draft beer or fountain soda for as low as $1 at concession and beer stands throughout the night. The first 1,000 fans through the gates that evening will receive a Military Appreciation Hat presented by Daytona Beach International Airport as part of the Tortugas’ Military Appreciation Night. Veterans and their families will also be able to purchase discounted tickets through the appropriate FEVO link. Players and coaches will also sport special patriotic-themed Best Dressed Uniforms that will be auctioned off through the team website. That evening’s affair is slated to begin at 7:05 p.m.

Best Dressed Uniforms remain on the schedule on Friday, August 19, when Daytona hosts their final Copa de la Diversión Night of the season. As part of Minor League Baseball’s initiative, Tortugas’ players and coaches will wear specially branded uniforms and caps to honor Hispanic heritage, while fans in attendance will be treated to various interactive on-field promotions and activities throughout the night. Prior to the first pitch, fans will also be able to enjoy Live Music from Tropical Drifter on the third-base riverwalk. Friday Night Happy Hour comes back to the ballpark, too, with special discounts on select draft beers at the concession stands. The weekend gets underway with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch.

Make sure you arrive at the ballpark early on Saturday, August 20, for Jonathan India Bobblehead Night presented by Radiology Associates. Due to production issues, the first 1,000 fans will receive a voucher for a bobblehead that can be picked up at the Tortugas’ front office located at 110 East Orange Avenue at a later date. Fans are advised to stay tuned to their emails and the Daytona Tortugas’ website and social media channels for their arrival. It will also be Prostate Cancer Awareness and American Cancer Society Night at The Jack. In partnership with Minor League Baseball, the American Cancer Society, and Hope At Bat, the Tortugas will hold a silent auction for a team-signed bat that will close in the top of the ninth inning. It will also be City of Ponce Inlet and City of Daytona Beach Shores Night featuring discounted tickets for residents through the appropriate FEVO link. The penultimate game of the series gets underway with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch.

Arrive early on Sunday, August 21, and come out to the 2022 Jeep Beach Show and Shine Event from 2 until 4 p.m.! Come to show off your Jeep with awards for best dressed in multiple categories and stay to hang out at the game!
