Peacock paces team for second straight tournament as Bulls finish tied for 8th
Lake Oconee, Ga., March 14, 2023 – For the second straight tournament sophomore Jake Peacock led the Bulls, finishing with a closing round 2-under 70 helping the Bulls to move up a spot at the Linger Longer Invitational. The Bulls finished tied for eighth out of 16 teams after starting the day in ninth place.
In the final round, the Bulls posted their lowest score of the tournament at 292, a 10-shot improvement over a second round 302 and seven shots better than the first round 299 to finish with a total of 893. Alabama, ranked 20th, took first place at 850.
Peacock, who’s performance at last week’s Ross Collegiate Classic led the team to its first win of the season and earned him AAC Player of the week honors, moved up 14 spots on the leaderboard in the final round to finish tied for 18. He carded rounds of 73, 75 and 70 for a 2-over finish of 218.
Sophomore Chase Gullikson opened with a 76 and followed up with a 73 in the second round and 74 in the third round. Gullikson finished tied for 40th with a seven-over total of 223.
One shot behind Gullikson was sophomore Shubham Jaglan who finished tied for 45th at eight-over 224. Jaglan opened with a 76 and improved each round, shooting a second round 74 and 73 in the final round.
Freshman Nino Palmquist, opened with a 76 in the first round. He shot 79 in the second round and bounced back with a 75 in the final round to finish tied for 65th with a total of 230.
Following a top-10 finish last week, Junior Sam Nicholson posted a scoring round of 74 in the first round, followed by 81 in the second and a closing 78 to finish tied for 76th at 233.

The Bulls return to action April 3-4 at Wofford Classic in Spartanburg, SC. The event is hosted by Wofford and will be played at the Country Cub of Spartanburg in Spartanburg, NC.

The USF men’s golf program has captured 17 conference titles and has seen players earn 19 All-America honors. The Bulls have won five American Athletic Conference Tournament championships in wire-to-wire fashion, winning four-consecutive from 2015-18. The Bulls have had four individual conference champions, including Albin Bergstrom in 2021, and gone on to earn nine straight NCAA Regional appearances, including a 6th place finish in NCAA Championship match-play in 2015. The Bulls have posted 20 tournament wins under Bradley entering the 2022-23 season, by far the most under any coach in program history.
