Jaguars Sign WR Jalen Camp, Jaguars Acquire CB Jameson Houston and 2023 Sixth-Round Pick, and Jaguars Sign DE Jordan Smith

JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed rookie WR Jalen Camp, the team announced. Additionally, the team waived third-year RB Ryquell Armstead.

Camp was selected in the sixth round (No. 209 overall) by the Jaguars, becoming the fourth player from Georgia Tech to be selected by Jacksonville in franchise history. Camp played in 49 games with the Yellow Jackets and registered 48 catches for 808 yards and five TDs, including a career-best 439 receiving yards and four TDs in 2020. Camp caught at least one pass in every game last season, highlighted by a 59-yard TD reception against Clemson on Oct. 17. He capped his collegiate career with five receptions for 97 yards (both career highs), including a 21-yard touchdown, against Pitt on Dec. 10.

Camp attended South Forsyth (Cumming, Ga.) High School and recorded 47 receptions for 819 yards and 15 touchdowns as a senior. He was also a three-year letter winner in track and field (100-meter, 4×100-meter relay).


JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Jaguars have traded CB Josiah Scott to the Philadelphia Eagles for CB Jameson Houston and a 2023 sixth-round pick, the team announced.

Houston, 5-11, 200, originally signed with Cleveland as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He also spent time with Carolina and, most recently, Philadelphia, where he played in three games to conclude the 2020 regular season. 

Prior to his professional career, the Austin, Texas native saw action in 48 career games at Baylor and earned All-Big 12 honorable mention accolades as a senior in 2019. He also collected Academic All-Big 12 honors in 2019, when he started 14 games and finished with 44 tackles.


JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed rookie DE Jordan Smith, the team announced.

Smith, 6-7, 255, was selected in the fourth round (No. 121 overall) of the 2021 draft.  The Lithonia, Ga. native recorded 96 tackles, 14.5 sacks and 27 tackles for loss in his two seasons at Alabama-Birmingham. He earned First-Team All-Conference USA in 2020 after recording 43 tackles, 4.5 sacks and one INT as a senior. In 2019, Smith finished with 10.0 sacks, the third-most in Conference USA.

Smith attended Lithonia (Ga.) High School and registered 104 tackles (86 solo), six forced fumbles and 3.0 sacks as a senior while also catching 11 passes for 181 yards and three TDs. He registered 71 tackles (56 solo) and 7.5 sacks as a junior in 2014.
