Jaguars Sign Offensive Tackle Cedric Ogbuehi

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed fifth-year OL Cedric Ogbuehi as an unrestricted free agent, the club announced today. His last name is pronounced, “o-BWAY-hee.”

Ogbuehi, 6-5, 308, was originally selected by Cincinnati with the 21st overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft and has appeared in 35 career games with 25 starts. In 2018, he appeared in two games after starting 13 of 14 games in 2017 and 12 of 14 games in 2016. As a rookie in 2015, he appeared in five games after beginning the season on the reserve/non-football injury list.

A native of Allen, Texas, located 30 miles of Dallas, Ogbuehi played collegiately at Texas A&M and started 42 games from 2011-14 after redshirting during the 2010 season. As a senior in 2014, he converted to left tackle and was selected as a first-team All-America selection by Walter Camp after spending his junior season in 2013 at right tackle. Ogbuehi played guard during his sophomore (2012) and freshman (2011) seasons in College Station. He earned his bachelor’s degree in recreation, parks and tourism sciences from Texas A&M in August 2014.
