Jaguars K Josh Lambo Named AFC Special Teams Player Of The Week

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jaguars fifth-year K Josh Lambo has been named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his 14-point performance, which included the 33-yard game-winning FG as time expired into 22 MPH winds, in the Jaguars’ Week 4 victory at Denver.

Lambo converted a 25-yard FG in the first quarter, a 40-yard FG with eight seconds remaining in the second quarter, a 34-yard FG with 2:54 remaining in the fourth quarter and the game-winning 33-yard FG as time expired in the team’s road victory on Sunday. During the month of September, Lambo made all 10 of his FG attempts, in addition to all six of his PAT attempts. He is the only kicker in the NFL this season to have converted on 100 percent of his kicks (10 for 10) with at least 10 attempts.

Lambo is now the third kicker in franchise history to earn AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors, joining Mike Hollis (three-time selection) and Josh Scobee (eight-time selection), and the first since Scobee won the award in Week 13 of the 2014 season. Lambo joins DL Calais Campbell, who won AFC Defensive Player of the Week in Week 3, as the two Jaguars players to win AFC Player of the Week honors this season.
